The show premiered on October 3, 2011 in the 7PM and 11PM time slot to replace John King, USA.CNN hopes Burnett's expected popularity will provide an "attractive" opening to an evening of "talk shows and news analysis."
Erin Burnett, OutFront is broadcast live from CNN's Time Warner Center studios in New York City or on location from the site of a breaking news event, airing from 7:00 pm ET to 8:00 pm ET. The program covers a number of news stories of the day in a Count-up format, starting at #1 -- most important and making it to #7 by the end of the hour. Burnett's program features taped packages from CNN Correspondents along with analysis and panel discussion.
